Welcome. My name is John Cairns, I am 43 and have been using computers since 1988; when a computer user was known as a "Nerd"!!
I decided to learn "Computer Engineering" in 2001 after owning a second-hand computer that was always malfunctioning for some reason or another, mainly because I was always curiously tinkering with it. Boys with their toys!
This tinkering lead to many unwanted visits to the local, expensive, computer engineer. So in order to save money I had to quickly learn about the computer, re-installation and repair.
My computer life actually began in 1988 when I took up computer programming as a hobby (BASIC, C and Assembly). Some 20+ Years later and I am still programming! but these days as a website programmer (HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and JQuery/JavaScript).
In 2002, after reading more technical "Computer Engineer" books and doing more self-education, I decided to do voluntary work in my local internet cafes and computer repair shops for a better understanding and experience of the computer (see right). So for the last 7+ years I have been known as a "Computer Engineer".
In 2005 I created a freecomputerlessons website, which is still free today, that now showcases my computer knowledge and acts as my references!
In order to gain knowledge and experience of the computer I did voluntary work in Internet Cafes and Computer Repair/Sales Shops, which involved helping the general public with the internet, their computer problems and visiting their homes for mobile computer repair/re-installation services.
With voluntary work and self-education I've also accumulated more programming, microsoft office and website design experiences over the years.
For references and/or more information (if you are not completely bored already!) simply phone me or e-mail me at john@click-wise.net
For the last 3 Years I have concentrated on my Website Programming (JQuery, PHP, HTML and CSS) and Internet Marketing Research.
A lot of my internet marketing research, which could benefit the website I create for you, has been to monitor things such as Article Writing, Website Traffic (Visitor) Techniques and Website Competition. I also attend Seminars and Webinars to keep a track on the latest happenings.
For more info and refs telephone me or email me: john@click-wise.net. You can also view my latest websiteportfolio and get my FREE website advice from websitecreationhelp. It explains some of the realities of running and promoting a website.
I work in areas that are within 1 Hour of travel from Central London, using London Transport (Tube and Bus), and cover the following areas in general. Meaning, I do visit more areas than shown here but it depends on the time of day, neighbourhood, travelling distance and other factors as to whether or not I can visit those other areas.
